What is Fable?

Fable is a collaborative storywriting app with AI-powered document editing. Write stories together with others, use voice-driven AI editing to refine your prose, and let AI help bring your narratives to life.

How does voice-driven editing work?

Fable lets you speak your edits naturally. Instead of manually selecting text and rewriting it, you can describe the changes you want, and the AI will apply them to your document. For example, you might say "make the dialogue in the second paragraph more tense" and Fable will intelligently edit that section.

Can I collaborate with others in real time?

Yes! Fable is built for collaborative storytelling. Multiple writers can work on the same document simultaneously with real-time syncing.

What platforms does Fable support?

Fable is available as a desktop application for macOS. We are actively working on expanding platform support.

How can I get the best results from voice editing?

For best results:

• Be specific about which part of the document you want to change
• Describe the tone, style, or direction you want the edit to take
• Use a good quality microphone when possible
• Minimize background noise for clearer voice capture

Technical Issues

Fable isn't detecting my microphone

Make sure you've granted microphone permissions to the Fable application. Check your system's privacy settings under Security & Privacy and ensure the microphone isn't being used by another application.

My edits aren't syncing with collaborators

Ensure you have an active internet connection. If the issue persists, try signing out and back in, or restarting the application. Fable requires a network connection for real-time collaboration features.
